Australian Manufacturer Making Waves

Champion Flagship Defence Contracts & Safeguard Commercials

Remuneration Package that Rewards Performance

Ocius Technology is growing rapidly. This Australian-owned, award-winning company designs autonomous Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) powered by renewable energy from the sun, wind, and waves. These vessels are redefining the future of ocean surveillance and communications.

After winning the $176M Program of Record with the Australian Government, Ocius is entering its next delivery phase and seeking a commercially astute Contracts Manager to play a pivotal role.

The Contracts Manager sits at the centre of the Delivery function, leading contract drafting, negotiation, execution and lifecycle management across customer, supplier and subcontractor agreements.

Reporting to the Chief of Delivery, you’ll work closely with Business Development, Finance, and Project Managers to translate opportunities into structured, commercially sound agreements that enable sustainable revenue and delivery. Your role covers the full contract lifecycle, from shaping bids and negotiating terms to managing variations, compliance, and close-out, ensuring governance, accuracy, and alignment with Defence and Government frameworks.

Ocius seeks a contracts specialist with proven experience managing end-to-end contracts in complex, regulated environments. A strong understanding of procurement frameworks, compliance, and risk is essential. Familiarity with Defence frameworks such as ASDEFCON, the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group (NSSG), export controls, or sovereign supply chains is a definite advantage.

You will confidently lead negotiations, manage stakeholder relationships and help balance commercial outcomes with contractual and operational risk. Working closely with Finance, Business Development and Project Managers, you will contribute to the development of pricing, schedules and deliverables that support sustainable growth and successful project delivery. You will also support contract administration capability, enhance policies, procedures and templates, and provide clear, practical commercial advice to senior leadership.

This role will suit someone who enjoys operating close to decision-makers within a business that values agility, pragmatism and meaningful contribution. The culture is hands-on, intelligent and mission-driven, with bright people solving difficult problems connected to the future of sovereign Australian maritime capability.

Enjoy working close to decision-makers in a hands-on, mission-driven culture focused on sovereign maritime capability. Ocius offers a role with meaningful commercial influence and genuine impact, without bureaucracy.

Join Ocius and help secure the future of one of Australia’s most ambitious Defence technology companies.

Note: Australian citizenship is required to fulfil NV1 security clearance for this role.
